LAS VEGAS (AP) — Dallas coach Pete DeBoer couldn’t hide his joy when the Stars beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 in January.DeBoer — fired by the Golden Knights after the previous season — chugged a beer in the locker room. “Nailed it,” he said afterward. Now there is much more on the line for DeBoer and the Stars than revenge and a cold one. They visit play Knights in the Western Conference Final, the first game is Friday night in Las Vegas. The Knights are a minus-140 favorite to win the NHL playoffs series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.Knights coach Bruce Cassidy, who was fired by Boston after last season, said DeBoer could have some advantages in knowing Vegas’ players strengths and weaknesses. But the Knights have two assistants on staff who coached under DeBoer last season and another, John Stevens, was on the Dallas bench the past three seasons.“I’m just putting my feet up and relaxing because those guys have all the information,” Cassidy said tongue-in-cheek.Ca...Gallagher gets key hit as Cleveland Guardians beat Chicago White Sox 3-1

BALTIMORE (AP) — All Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout need is a little more help. They got it from Hunter Renfroe during a dicey ninth inning.Ohtani homered in the first and hit a tiebreaking infield single in the eighth, and Renfroe’s terrific throw in the ninth helped the Los Angeles Angels hold on for a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday.“That throw from Renfroe was incredible,” Los Angeles manager Phil Nevin said. “That’s one of the better throws I’ve seen by a right fielder.”Trout also went deep for the Angels, and Anthony Santander and Adley Rutschman homered for Baltimore. Rutschman’s two-run shot in the seventh gave Baltimore a 5-4 lead, but it was short lived.Bryan Baker (3-1) allowed a single and a walk with one out in the eighth, and then Austin Voth came on and yielded an RBI single to Gio Urshela.
